2023 Golf & Ramble Day Results and Oxford Colleges Tour – 23rd Sept at 10.00am

Thursday 14th September was a very warm and sunny day and saw the annual Red Trouser Day Morris Cup golf competition swing into action. With some 14 teams competing for the coveted trophy, the day was a success.

In parallel to the golf, an 8 mile ramble through the Surrey hills and woods around the club was also held and enjoyed by everyone including a stop at the Bull Inn where the proprietor kindly donated some food to help the weary legs. For full results and pictures see below.

The next event is a tour of Oxford Colleges by Red Trouser Day Ambassador Tom Brown.

Starting at the Turf Tavern for a pub lunch, you will be taken on a walk lasting approx 2.5 hours including the two largest colleges, Christ Church and New College, several smaller colleges Hertford, Jesus, Exeter as well as the Sheldonian Theatre, Radcliffe Camera, the High Street and Magdalen College and Bridge.

An extension, depending on weariness of the group, may take in some modern additions to the University such as the Mathematics Institute. Note there are admission charges for most colleges which are not included.

At the Golf & Ramble Day prize giving we were treated to an inspirational chat by Dr Priyanka Kanvinde on her successful campaign to become the first UK & Indian Mrs Universe in 2018.  “Winning was her special message”!

We also heard from Dr Irene Chong on the difference Red Trouser Day funds are making towards genetic research and how it has helped a number of Junior Doctors develop their career. Irene thanked all attendees and wished them luck in the competition results.
