Happy New Year to the Red Trouser Day Community

Our Patron Sir Kenneth Olisa handing out the awards at the annual donor thank you evening.

2023 was the 8th year of our existence and we closed 2023 with another £30K funds raised making our grand total over £260K towards life changing research.

Thank you so much for the support ; and check out the websites new home page photos, trying to keep it fresh.

We have started 2024 with a fantastic boost from Brigantia Partners Ltd (a distributor of Cybersecurity services in the UK & Ireland) who, as part of their annual charity giving, chose Red Trouser Day to be one of their charity recipients and they have made a tremendous £4K donation, for which we thank them. Hopefully, when we and Brigantia have jointly publicised this donation more widely, it will also help to encourage other businesses to consider RTD, when they are looking at their own charity giving.

We have plenty to do; we have just approved a £21K award to a great team in Imperial College who are developing haptic (touch based ) simulation tools using AI imaging to improve primary care diagnosis. We are more and more driving our money towards projects that increase early detection of colorectal cancer. We would love to eradicate it but we have to be pragmatic, especially as Bowel Cancer had just gone up from no 4 to no 3 most diagnosed cancers so we have plenty to do.

Over the course of the last 3 months we have been extending our clinical relationships to include the East Suffolk and North Essex Trusts at Ipswich and Colchester. The aim of this is organise some fund raising for their colorectal cancer work, provide support to local patients and create a bridge with the Royal Marsden team.

I hear you ask " What can we do?"

Our focus has been to raise awareness so people get themselves checked and raise funds to support research whilst having fun. If you have an idea for an event either personally or at your company we have a team that can help you achieve a great outcome.
