Happy New Year to you all. We have had a great start to 2025 fund raising. A coach full of Rugby Vets came down on Friday 3rd from a village called Bishops Auckland near Durham. They had seen the BBC One Show programme on RTD and having lost a couple of their friends to Bowel Cancer were inspired to get involved. They were in full song at the Sitara Resturant; they wanted to experience the Curry that was shown on the TV. I think more beer was drunk that food eaten, but the most amazing thing was they were all wearing Red Trousers and Black T-Shirts. They had raised just over £2k on the way down, and we added £420 to that after we ran a Heads & Tails competition. Amazing stuff and I think it is fair to say Julia and Paul were very humbled by a lovely bunch of fellars rekindling old memories of Rugby tours. We then all met with some regular Charity Supporters at the Saracens StoneX Ground on Sat afternoon for the match against Bristol Bears. One of the chaps is the dad to a Sarries Prop Alex Cleary, it was a great afternoon, with much banter, fun and awareness raising. Thank you to Steve Errrington for putting it altogether.
