The 2025 Red Trouser Day fundraising season is up and running with some £12,000 already raised this year. A reminder, Red Trouser Day is a volunteer charity where 90-95% of net proceeds (i.e. after deduction of any event costs e.g. ticket prices) makes it way to fund vital research with a particular focus on early diagnosis. There are no paid staff.

This Years Activities Round Up
In January we saw a team of Rugby vets come down from Bishops Aukland who wanted to experience the Sitara (Curry House where it all started) and watch the Saracens – one of the vets is the father of Alec Clarey. Julia had to judicate on the standard of red trousers being worn
They raised an amazing £3,000
We saw Molly running in the London Marathon raising an amazing £2,500 in support of her Stepfathers recent demise caused by this horrendous disease. Molly wore some red shorts in support of the charity colours.
We also saw a new entrant for the most daring fund raising idea from Kirsten who achieved an amazing abseil off the Portsmouth Sail in April, in high winds whilst being scared of heights, raised £1,000.
Kirsten looking very at home a few hundred feet into the air, well done for tackling this amazing challenge.
More recently; Steve Smith (organised by his daughter Karen) held a singalong in the Eltham Grill, a fun evening and so many people in support who had been affected by Bowel Cancer through lost love ones or survivors.
If you have an idea for fundraising, please make contact, we have a team who will help you .
