Thursday 23rd Aptil 2026 saw the launch of the 2026 Red Trouser Day Campaign where Professor Gina Brown shared with us her project for resetting how Bowel Cancer Tumours are staged, which will massively transform patient treatment pathways. RTD gave £50,000 to this project in Nov, we now need to raise another £200k to help finish the job off.
Gina’s message to us afterwards:
“I just wanted to say thank you all so much for last night. It really meant a lot to share how MERCURY 3 is already helping patients like many of you or your loved ones. Your honesty, questions and engagement were incredible — this partnership has been so important in shaping the trial and keeping it focused on real people, not just numbers. I’m deeply grateful for the support you’ve already given. You’re a genuine part of the progress we’re making, and it shows. Thank you again for the warmth, the turnout despite the tube chaos, and the belief in what we’re trying to achieve together. You are one of the most dynamic charities that I’ve ever encountered!”
Bowel Cancer is now the 3rd most diagnosed cancer and 2nd biggest killer, because it is diagnosed too late. It is rising to be the most diagnosed cancer
