What is involved?

A 5k run in the West Sussex countryside through an assault course of mud pits and obstacles on the morning of Sunday 20th October 2019. It is tough but FUN! It will cost you £39 to register (however when the team reaches 10 team members everyone will receive an automatic 10% refund and future team members will receive the discounted team price. Please allow 3-5 days for payment to appear in your account). More details of the run can be found at the mud monsters website: see link below.

You will also be asked to invite all your family and friends to sponsor you by donating to a fundraising page for Red Trouser Day. Last year we raised £1,400 so we are aiming to beat that with the help of a bigger team of runners.

Why Red Trouser Day and Why is Amber organising this?

My dad is a colorectal (bowel) cancer survivor. Battling this cancer is a messy, painful, humiliating and often deadly business, as the founder and trustees of RTD know all too well from personal experience. RTD is a registered charity that is dedicated to raising funds for research, innovation and the acquisition of products and services to improve bowel cancer patient outcomes, and awareness of this deadly cancer. The funds you raise will help us with supporting clinical research by the colorectal surgical team at the Royal Marsden Hospital for earlier diagnosis and treatment e.g. Blood tests for polyps, as well as technological research for improvements e.g. robotic surgery and patient outcomes and mental wellbeing research for patients & families to ease the stress and anxiety. RTD is run entirely by volunteers so that all the money we raise goes to support this.
